HALLOWEEN WITCH FINGERS
Ingredients
- This Halloween recipe for witch fingers is terrifying and fascinating at the same time.
+ 2 ½ cups of wheat flour
+ ½ cup of cornmeal or cornstarch
+ 1 cup of white sugar
+ ½ cup of unsalted butter at room temperature
+ 2 eggs
+ 1 teaspoon of baking powder
+ 1 pinch of salt
+ 2 teaspoons of TERANA Ground Cinnamon
+ 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam
+ 1/4 cup of toasted almonds
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. Prepare a baking tray with baking paper.
3. In a large bowl add cornstarch, sugar, and butter and mix well with a spatula.
4. Add the eggs, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
5. Beat everything with an electric mixer and gradually add the flour. Knead well until all the ingredients are integrated. There should be a firm and moldable dough.
6. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and put it in the fridge for half an hour.
7. Then, scoop out small portions of dough and roll them into the irregular shape of knobbly witch fingers.
8. Place them on the baking tray.
9. Mark the knuckles on the fingers with a knife.
10. Bake at 180ºC for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden.
11. Place a little strawberry jam on the fingertips as if it were blood and, on top of it, a toasted almond with the pointy end facing out, to make the witch's nails.
12. You can put a small bowl with strawberry or raspberry jam on the tray where you offer these Halloween witch fingers, for your guests to dip their cookies in.
